The goofy eye brought this bird to life, Rob. I suspect you know that with all of your character-development know-how. Until I had her staring bug-eyed at the fish, she was dull as can be.

I'm glad this triggered a storybook memory for you, Dave. Maybe my bird is in your childhood bird's family tree. Wouldn't that be something? I stuffed a fish in my bird because the bird's beak was open wide and looked silly without something in it.

I'm glad you like this, Vivienne. I'll think on a name for her.

I would ditch the white mass in the third version and keep that area the way it is in the second version. That way, the viewer's eye follows the bend of the water without being distracted. IOW: Imagination takes the viewer around the bend. Then, I would add something behind the rock on the left side -- behind the spot of yellow. Something off in the distance that adds some extra visual interest to show the depth of the scene.

I like them both, too, but I prefer the top one. Why? Because the hills are calling my name for a hike after I stroll through the beautiful meadow.

    Nice work, Dave.

  • The Bridge
I fall to my knees, hang on for dear life, and cry like a little girl on swaying, slat-bridges. That said, the crawl down to the castle could be worth the angst.

I like the three trees, Don.

So cute. The frog is enjoying a look-see.

You did a nice job with the water, Don. The rocket is a nice touch. I like the leaves on the lower right.

Quirky and intriguing. (An odd combination for a kitchen appliance. Ha ha.)
